OMG!!!!! What the actual fragile rock of a month. It's been busy, it's been educational, it has been tiring...it's been perfect. Well, when talking all things writing and bookish. The rest of real life can go straight to the fiery pits of hell that I write about because I just don't have time for it anymore. The anxiety is high enough.

The Woman in the Mirror

I have had to take a really good look at myself the past couple of days and it has been tough. There are a lot of things in my life that I very much need, not just for me but my family but they cause me a great deal of stress and anxiety which I have struggled with for over 10 years.

It's hard to keep the dream at the forefront when you have so much riding on the here and now. The bills, the day to day, the general living and I say to myself, several times a day...'I don't think I can do this. It's all a bit too much' but I keep going. Why, because I have an awesome network of people behind me and because my dream of writing matters to them, and is for them as much for them as it is for me. I will spend the rest of my life making sure that I make them proud but also, make myself proud too. Thanks for sticking with me. Espcially my other half 'Big Stu' my number one fan! Love ya!

Shit shirt night

There are a many great deal of wonderful indie author cheerleaders out there and I through the Scribe and Sign festival, I have been lucky enough to be introduced to Meg 'The Book Goblin' (also check them out on TT) and be a part of the Goblin Guest Hour. This was such an amazing TT live session where we chatted about the book, being Indie and just having a laugh.

I was nervous because, well, I was just me and sometimes that dreaded inner voice speaks to me and says, 'try and be a little less you' but the voice was told to shut it and we had such a good time.

Thanks for having me Meg cocka it was a blast. Check out the Guest hour, every thursday at 8pm on TT.

Coastal Chapters

The end of the month saw a wonderful beginning to what I think is going to be very special. Coastal Chapters Retreat in Scarborough took place, hosted by the lovely Karen. It was such a great day, getting to meet other amazing authors and all the bookish people who are willing to give my book a chance. Thank you to those!

It's not lost on me that I am such a newby. I don't have a massive backlog. One book and anthology entries actually and that's it. But it means so much to me that people who are hosting these events are willing to give me a chance. It is true, you have to start somewhere but you also have to find that 'where' to start with.

I met the wonderful James (The Library of James...check out the website below) and Barreh also indie author champions and they were just as lovely in person as they are on their TT lives.

I cannot wait for the next Coastal Chapter events...and watch this space for more info.
