Cocka's, the year is flying by. On my last TikTok (TT) live, one of the guests commented that we just had new years 3 days ago and let me tell you, it feels like it.
March brought with it some very exciting events and my first outing as an author.
Spice Up Your Life
I am on a mission.
This mission which I have chosen to accept is...'Get Fit for Forty.'
So in an attempt to hit the ground running, I went to a 90's fitness weekend where I quickly learned how very unfit I was.
Go back 5 or 6 years when I was playing cricket and exercising every day, I'm a shadow of my former self.
But I guess that's okay.
Life happens, time gets shorter and the waist get's wider.
No! I refuse to believe this and so I am endeavouring to reach my peak by 40. I have a year and a half to go. Don't judge me. My clothes no longer fit and as an Indie author...I can't afford to buy new ones.
The fitness weekend was amazing, with a grand mix of height, weight and age and I felt right at home. My friend, Sam, the nutrition and fitness guru made some astonishing food and got me pumped ready to dance and absolutely sweat my 90's heart out.
I got to live my childhood fantasy of dressing up as the Spice Girls and it was actually one of the best nights of my life.
So much I met a 90's indie kindred spirit and we squatted to 'Sit Down' by James. In a silent disco might I add.
A very fun weekend was had.
The First Author Event
It's been building up to this moment. The days and weeks went by and then, it was here.
My first author event of the year!
I gave a little talk at Royston Library in my home town of Barnsley and you know what...I couldn't have been more chuffed. It was a small turn out but you know what, we had such a good chat about books and also turns out, reminiscing about school.
I had my little note cards with me because if you have seen my TT lives, I'm a blumming liability. But, I stuck to it and hopefully all went well.
I want to give Barnsley Libraries a massive shout out because they were fab and the staff at Royston Library were lovely! Thank you to those that came, especially Lucy Brighton. We have had each other's backs from the get go when we decided to crack on and self publish. Thanks for being there, always!
The event lit a fire in me.
It made me want to write more and more.
Don't worry, I am cracking on with draft two of book 2. Coming soon.

April Shower of Events
Keep an eye on my events page because it's about to go off in April with a load of events and TT happenings.
Signing off for another month. Keep supporting us Indie lot because we are working our sweet behinds off!
Lots of love
xx
